PHYSIO HELPS TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE

Published March 8, 2019

Physiotherapy has been around for centuries; however, it was established as a formal association in Australia in 1906. Physio has a significant amount of scientific research to support its benefits, currently playing a major role in all types of amateur and professional sport. Physiotherapy Perth improves quality of life by reducing pain and stiffness, increasing mobility and improving injury recovery.

Physiotherapists are highly qualified, holding a Bachelor’s degree or often a Master’s degree, so you can expect that they are knowledgeable in diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions. Physiotherapy Perth can benefit almost anyone, from young to old. Physio Como can treat many conditions such as injuries, joint problems, fractures, neck and back problems, arthritis, muscle problems and many more. Physio can benefit more than just acute conditions, it is also be utilised in the treatment and management of many chronic conditions.

How Physio Works

Physiotherapy works to improve the patient’s strength, mobility, help with joint mobilisation and range of motion. Exercises are used to help to reduce stiffness and relieve pain depending on the patient’s needs. Patients are given exercises according to their individual needs to carry out at home, in a pilates studio or in a gym, improving overall flexibility and strength.

The Benefits Of Physio

One of the major benefits of physio is its holistic approach. Holistic treatment and healing take into account the physical, psychological and social impacts affecting health. Physiotherapists work with the mind and body to promote health and improve quality of life. Physiotherapists work with a range of conditions without medication, improving body mechanics, reducing pain, improving blood circulation, preventing headaches and assisting with rehabilitation.

It’s not always those needing treatment or healing who visit a physiotherapist. Many athletes seek out the help of a qualified physio to improve performance and prevent injury. Physiotherapists are experts in body mechanics and use their knowledge to help athletes perform their sport in a safe manner at their peak level.

Physio And Chronic Disease

Physiotherapy is a great option for managing a wide range of chronic diseases. Physio can assist those who find it difficult to complete normal daily activities due to chronic diseases such as arthritis, diabetes, obesity, musculoskeletal conditions, respiratory and cardiovascular disease.

Physio for chronic pain is individualised providing exercises and treatment for managing these conditions. Integrity Physio Como South Perth understands the limitations caused by chronic disease and provides a tailored program to help improve the patient’s quality of life.

Prevention

Health and mobility play a major factor in a person’s quality of life. Not being able to participate in daily activities such as sport, social events and recreational activities can affect mental health and cause suffering. Physio is a great way to prevent and reduce the risk of injuries occurring. Whilst, not all injuries can be prevented, physiotherapy can identify any issues with strength, balance, coordination and flexibility to reduce the risk of an injury occurring.

Physiotherapists can provide many benefits, from the treatment of injuries and chronic conditions to prevention and improving strength. Physio doesn’t only focus on the physical aspects of your condition but considers the whole patient to ensure overall health and wellness.
