What is Plantar Fasciitis?
Plantar fasciitis is inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thick fibrous band of connective tissue running along the sole of your foot. The plantar fascia connects your heel bone to your toes and creates your foot arch.
Plantar fasciitis causes heel pain and can develop due to overuse, overstretching or certain medical conditions. Plantar fasciitis is often associated with a heel spur, which is a small bony growth extending between your heel bone and arch. However, this association is uncertain.
